1. Floyd’s Cajun Seafood

If you’re in the mood for some Louisiana-style seafood, Floyd’s Cajun Seafood is the place to go, easily one of the best restaurants in Beaumont! Here you can enjoy palate-pleasing Gulf Coast-style cajun/creole specialties like fresh boiled crawfish and shrimp, fried gator, red beans and rice, po’ boys, and more.

Plus, they have live music on the weekends!

Floyd’s Bar Trash appetizer is a must! This tasty plate of blackened shrimp and lump crab meat is served with garlic toast and lemon butter. It is addictive! Floyd’s sweet tea is on point, too.

My husband was a fan of the Chicken and Sausage Jambalaya, which was literally a big enough portion to eat for days. Dang, it was delicious.

2. Daddio’s Burger

If a juicy burger is what you’re craving then head over to Daddio’s Burger. They serve up classic burgers and chicken sandwiches, made with uber fresh ingredients, as well as specialty burgers like the signature Daddio Burger (topped with jalapeños and onion strings) or the Groovy Green Chile (topped with chilies, devil sauce, pepper jack cheese).

My top pick is the Avocado & Swiss burger. Nom!

Pair your delicious burger or sandwich with a creamy, thick milkshake or malt. Daddio’s hand-cut fries (try the parmesan truffle version!) are a must. If weather permits, enjoy the roomy patio.

3. Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen serves up classic Southern seafood dishes, such as blackened redfish or crab cakes. They also offer lighter fare — think salads and grilled fish.

The two things I love at Pappadeaux are the Giant Shrimp & creamy cheese grits (in spicy creole butter, I might add) and the Crawfish Étouffée over white rice. Spectacular!

Regardless of what you order, you’re guaranteed a great meal every time. Save room for a slice of cool key lime pie.

Fun Fact: If you fly in or out of DFW, look for Pappadeaux at terminals A and C.

4. Bruno’s Italian Kitchen

Nothing beats a comforting plate of homemade Italian food and Bruno’s Italian Kitchen delivers just that! This family-owned restaurant has been serving Beaumont residents since 1992, with amazing dishes like lasagna al forno, veal piccata, and chicken marsala. There are even gluten-free options available!

Bruno’s complimentary bread is finger-licking good! My daughter and I feasted on Fried Mozzarella, served with a flavorful marinara sauce. For main courses, she had Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, made with quality ingredients, and I chose Chicken Bruno in a beurre blanc cream sauce, which can be served over pasta or risotto. It was amazing!

Bruno’s is open for lunch and dinner. The prices are reasonable.

5. Toasted Yolk Cafe

The Toasted Yolk Cafe is known for its awesome breakfast creations, like stuffed French toast, cram-packed scrambles, Benedicts (which they call Arnolds), breakfast burritos, and more.

With so many unique breakfast options, plus lunch, with sandwiches & salads available until 3 PM daily, this eatery has something for everyone.

I feasted on the Cowboy Scramble at Toasted Yolk Cafe. This concoction started with a biscuit piled high with scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, and sausage, then topped with country gravy. While I didn’t love the gravy, it was still good and the dish was very filling.

The hash brown casserole side dish choice was spot on. My husband chose a 2-Egg Deluxe Breakfast, which came with a pancake. We would gladly eat here again.

6. Lupe Tortilla

I saw Lupe Tortilla from the highway and was drawn to the funky decor and neon signs. Inside, my husband and I were greeted by a friendly host and bartender. Whether it’s breakfast burritos or Tex-Mex dinner tacos you’re after, Lupe Tortilla has it all (and more!)

Lupe’s chips & salsa are yummy. We added a side of Chili Con Queso to go with them.

You can’t go wrong with the fajita choices at Lupe Tortilla. You can pretty much name the meats you want as the options include barbacoa, chicken, shrimp, beef, and filet mignon, plus a few bonus choice like jalapeño bacon-wrapped quail and spicy chipotle smoked ribs.

My favorite thing was the house recipe for Pina Coladas that uses condensed milk. Freaking nom!

7. Tia Juanita’s

Eating atTia Juanita’s Fish Campis a must! After sinking my teeth into the tasty Mexican, Cajun, and seafood cuisine, it is no wonder that the eclectic restaurant is continually in the Top 5 on TripAdvisor’s Beaumont dining options.

Tia Juanita’s has live music on the porch and outdoor dining. They certainly have a way with nachos, so be prepared to have some of the best if you are craving them.

My Spicy Beef Nachos were drenched in ground beef, refried beans, creamy queso, melted cheddar-jack cheese, and jalapeños. Still, the dish that stole the show was the Creamy Shrimp and Crab Bread Bowl, which was covered in a velvety, luscious pepper-jack cream sauce with plenty of blackened lump crab.

Oh, blessed day, it was spectacular…and every time that I’ve been back since!

FYI: There is a second Tia Juanita’s over in Port Arthur.

8. Ralph & Kacoo’s

This local favorite serves up all your favorite Cajun dishes like gumbo, jambalaya and étouffée, as well as fresh Gulf seafood like oysters Rockefeller and crab cakes. Their menu also features steaks and pastas, so there’s something for everyone at Ralph & Kacoo’s.

I’ve been frequenting Ralph & Kacoo’s since the early 1990s, starting in New Orleans. My last visit was in March of 2023, and I’m still impressed with the food quality, service standards, and amazing selection of Cajun meals.

The Red Beans & Rice (smoked Alabama Conecuh sausage) is still my favorite item on the menu, but dang, those braised potatoes are freaking insanely good! Try them with the fried shrimp and catfish platter.

9. Rao’s Bakery

VisitRao’s Bakeryfor breakfast, a long-running institution for Beaumont’s foodies and coffee lovers. Try the delicious selection of gourmet muffins (super moist and flavorful), donuts, cinnamon rolls, or pastries and your favorite java, tea, juice, or soda to go with it.

If you are more for traditional breakfast items, they have wraps, croissant sandwiches, and paninis. You may also want to take a few iced sugar cookie cutouts with you to enjoy later.

Oh, and let’s not forget that Rao’s has the best King Cake in Texas. If you haven’t tried one, I highly recommend it.

10. Saltgrass: The Original Texas Steakhouse

Nothing hits the spot quite like a steak dinner and at Saltgrass that’s exactly what you’ll get – perfectly cooked steaks paired with delicious sauces, along with hearty, filling sides like mashed potatoes or macaroni & cheese.

Saltgrass is sure to satisfy even the most discerning steak lover. They specialize in prime cuts of chargrilled beef, like ribeye, porterhouse, or center-cut filet. While the steaks are great, Saltgrass offers a whole lot more on their menu, do don’t just classify this as a typical steakhouse.

A few of my favorite dishes are Chicken Laredo, Cheese Fries, and Chicken Fried Chicken. And, Saltgrass partners with a whole hub of online ordering services, so you can have your meal delivered to your house from virtually anywhere.
