Stratford Hall Plantation
Auf dieser Plantage wurde Robert E. Lee geboren. Einige Jahrzehnte zuvor verbrachten hier Richard Henry Lee und Francis Lightfoot Lee ihre Kindheit – die beiden Brüder sind die einzigen Geschwister, die die amerikanische Unabhängigkeitserklärung unterschrieben haben. Die Plantage liegt auf einer Klippe über dem Potomac River und umfasst ca. 750 Hektar Ackerland und Wald.
