We keep the PGA DFS season going with our Wyndham Championship PGA DFS Core Plays, taking a look at Billy Horschel and a few other key targets. The final stop on the 2024 PGA Tour regular season takes place at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Now let’s take a look at some Wyndham Championship DFS picks and core plays this week.
Wyndham Championship Course & Tournament Preview
The 7,131-yard, par-70 course, designed by Donald Ross, features two par 5’s, four par 3’s and 12 par 4’s. Nearly 20 players will join this event after competing in the Olympics, including Shane Lowry (Ireland), Nick Taylor (Canada) and Min Woo Lee (Australia). Following this weekend, 70 players will advance to the FedEx Cup Playoffs in Memphis, and 40 of them are competing at Sedgefield Country Club this week.
Course history has proven crucial here, with Patrick Reed, Billy Horschel, Webb Simpson, Si Woo Kim and Kevin Kisner contributing 24 top-10 finishes and four wins over the past nine years. Other key factors for success this week include proficiency on Bermudagrass greens, driving accuracy over distance and elite wedge play. Excelling in these areas will be essential for a top finish.
Using the Stokastic PGA Sims Tool, I’ve highlighted the top plays for this week. Our hole-by-hole simulations evaluate each golfer’s potential outcome, combined with PGA DFS projections. By running simulations of lineups tens of thousands of times, we can pinpoint the top plays.

2024 Wyndham Championship DFS Picks & Core Plays
Billy Horschel – $10,200
Horschel has a strong track record at Sedgefield, finishing 11th or better in five of his last seven appearances. In all 11 of his starts here, he has gained strokes both off the tee and from tee to green. Last year the 37-year-old finished -16 at the Wyndham Championship.
This season he ranks 12th in strokes gained putting and 41st in driving accuracy. Among the field this week, he’s seventh in total strokes gained over the past 20 rounds. With five top-10 finishes this season, he’s well positioned for another strong performance against a less star-studded field.
Brian Harman – $9,300
Typically when this southpaw appears on my television screen, I get infuriated with his lack of urgency. His mannerisms drive me bonkers. However, I’m setting aside my pet peeves; Harman can take as much time as he needs as long as it leads to effective results.
Over his past 20 rounds, Harman’s results speak for themselves, as he ranks fourth in driving accuracy and 29th in total strokes gained. Additionally, his putting has been strong, placing him 31st in strokes gained putting. Harman has multiple top-10 finishes at this event and excels with his irons on a course like Sedgefield.
Aaron Rai – $8,800
Rai is well suited for this course. He ranks third in driving accuracy, top 10 in strokes gained on approach, greens in regulation and comparable course history. Plus, the Englishman has five top-10 finishes under his belt this year and, compared to others, may thrive during challenging weather conditions.
Despite a recent rough performance at The Open, Rai finished in the top 20 in five consecutive events before that. His consistent accuracy and improved putting make him a strong candidate for success this week.

GPP Flier
Doug Ghim – $7,300
Every tournament this man is in, I’m cheering for him – -not because I’m consistently wagering on him, but because he’s from my hometown. This time, though, I’ll be supporting him for both reasons.
The 28-year-old is more than capable of contending in this setting. Ghim ranks seventh in strokes gained on approach, 12th in driving accuracy and 13th in greens in regulation. At similar courses to Sedgefield, his performances have been promising:
- TPC Sawgrass: Tied 16th
- TPC Twin Cities: Tied 24th
- TPC Deere Run: Tied 34th
- Innisbrook Resort: Tied 67th
While his putting needs improvement, Ghim’s accuracy should help him position himself well on this shorter course. With a thinner field, he has a strong chance to make an impact.
